Bangladesh A got the perfect start they needed to challenge the Pakistan Shaheens’ imposing total, thanks to fiery batting from Saif Hasan and Zeeshan Alam. Their explosive partnership in the powerplay laid a strong platform for a big chase. However, despite the promising start, the rest of the batting lineup failed to capitalize, and Bangladesh suffered a 79-run defeat.
Pakistan Shaheens won the toss and opted to bat first in Darwin, posting 227/4 in 20 overs. Yasir Khan led the charge with a brisk 62 runs, while Hasan Mahmud picked up 1 wicket for 34 runs for Bangladesh. In reply, Bangladesh managed only 148 all out in 16.5 overs, falling short of the target by a significant margin.
Bangladesh A
Chasing 228, Bangladesh A lost experienced opener Naeem Sheikh in the very first over after scoring 5 runs from 4 balls. Despite this early setback, the team recovered with a strong partnership between Saif Hasan and Zeeshan Alam. Saif played a whirlwind innings while Bangladesh were three wickets down, and Zeeshan matched him shot for shot. The duo added 86 runs for the second wicket before Zeeshan fell for 33 off 17 balls.
Saif Hasan went on to score a brilliant 57 off 32 balls, his fifty being the highlight of the innings. Unfortunately, no other batsman could build on this foundation. Afif Hossain, Dhruv, and Mahidul Islam Ankon were dismissed cheaply, leaving Bangladesh all out well short of the target.
Earlier, Pakistan Shaheens had set a formidable total. Openers Khawaja Nafi and Yasir Khan stormed their way to a 118-run opening stand, giving the team a solid start. Nafi was run out after scoring 61 off 31 balls, while Yasir added a quick 62 off 40 balls. Later, Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 50 off 27 balls, and Irfan Khan contributed a quick 25 off 12 deliveries, helping Pakistan post a competitive 227/4 in their 20 overs.
